Land Transportation Office LTO Vehicle Registration

Did you purchase a new vehicle? a car? a motor? were you informed by the dealer that it will take you 2 to 3 months before you should be able to receive your plate? Its a good thing that the No plate No travel policy is still suspended so the only way for you to use your brand new vehicle is by asking your dealer to issue you certificates that you purchased the vehicle from them. The problem though is each certificate will only be valid for 7 days, so it is a hassle to always ask or go to your dealer for certificate.





Why does it take 2 to 3 months for you to get your plate? The service is actually free from our dealers BUT the catch is that dealers would need or have a quota for them to process everything in one shot. A dealer may have a quota of 100 new vehicles for them to go to LTO and register all of the vehicles. I am just saying that it is 100 but it could be more depending on the dealer.

You may tell your dealer that you will be the one to process the registration of your vehicle. In reality it would only take you a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 days for you to get your plate number. The requirements in registering your vehicle are:

1. PNP Clearance
2. Stencil of Chassis and Engine
3. Sales Invoice
4. Ceritifacte of Stock Report
5. Certificate of Quality Assurance
6. TPL Insurance

You may ask your dealer for all of these requirements and it should be readily available for you or else they will need to process it and you would have to wait. But if all of these are available then you should have no problem and you just need to go to LTO / Land Transportation Office nearest your area so that you can process your application and get your plate number for a day.
